What people are saying...
" A park is a great thing for the Glengarry community because
this is a new beginning for us children and the future. Thank you. "
Adut, member of the Glengarry Homework Club
"The Glengarry neighbourhood has had a bad reputation
for years but the Glengarry Neighbourhood Strengthening Committee
has helped improve the community over the last four years.
We now have a drop in centre, community events and this park
will be another positive step. I am so happy and excited for
the kids of the neighbourhood and thankful for the Let them
be Kids Foundation and the community partner ’s hard
work. Thank you."

LTBK Windsor Let ’s Build A Park Project
The Windsor Let’s Build A Park Project is a joint project between
the City of Windsor Social Service Department, the Windsor Essex Children’s
Aid Society and the Windsor offices of the Ministry of Children and Youth
Services and the Ministry of Community and Social Services and local community
partners. The goal of this project is to add over $50,000 in equipment
refurbishments to the Fred Thomas Park.
The community partners are committed to making this project work. The lead agencies will be responsible for raising 40 %, or approximately $15,000, towards the cost of this project.
OBJECTIVES
- New Community Playground: The main objective of this project is to refurbish the existing playground in the Glengarry neighbourhood.
- Improve Community Relations: Through this project we hope to improve relationships between the community partners and the individuals or families that they provide service to within the Glengarry neighbourhood.
- Cross Sectoral Partnerships/Linkages: While there are a number of formal protocol agreements in place between these lead agencies working on this common project will enable face to face networking between staff.
- Increase volunteerism: It is a goal of this project to increase
volunteerism across the staff of all three agencies as well as
within the neighborhood of the park site location.
In one day, the following will transform Fred Thomas Park:
This project will include an entire new play structure that it up to date,
and safe for children to play. See pictures.
